Jewelry Insurance

June 24th, 2010 900jewelry No comments

You might be surprised to learn that your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy probably does not offer full coverage for your engagement ring and other fine jewelry. Your insurance policy probably covers jewelry theft, but not loss that occurs for other reasons.

Typical Insurance Policies

Renter’s and homeowner’s insurance policies set limits for the loss of certain categories of personal property, including jewelry. Homeowner’s policies typically pay a maximum of $1,000 for jewelry theft. A renter’s insurance policy might have a lower limit for jewelry loss–$500 is common.

Does your insurance policy cover jewelry loss for reasons other than theft–such as for lost or damaged items? Read your policy carefully and ask your insurance agent to clarify the types of losses that are covered on your standard policy.

Additional Jewelry Insurance

You can usually purchase additional insurance for your fine jewelry, but be sure to ask your agent questions so that you have a good understanding of the coverage:

  • Is there a deductible? If so, how much is it and how does raising or lowering the deductible affect your policy costs?
  • Is an appraisal required prior to obtaining insurance? Are there only certain types of appraisers whose reports are accepted?
  • Are the items covered no matter where they take place? Would the policy cover you for a loss that occurs during domestic or international travel?
  • Are items covered for full replacement cost? Must you replace the item, or can you obtain a cash settlement?
  • Does the policy cover repairs to damaged jewelry?
  • Jewelry Insurance Options

    The Chubb Group
provides insurance specifically for jewelry. The company offers policies through independent insurance agents and jewelry retailers. Here’s a brief description of Chubb’s engagement ring policy guidelines:

    • Full coverage for the itemized amount shown on the policy.
    • No deductible.
    • Coverage applies worldwide for lost or stolen rings.
    • Replacement is not required, Chubb offers a cash settlement. If you do replace the ring, you select the jeweler.

Why do red beans known as “love beans”?

    June 22nd, 2010 900jewelry 1 comment

It is said that long ago there was a man who went off to war. His wife was leaning against a big tree in a high mountain while hoping for her man to return home day and night. Because of her continual longing, she was sobbing under the big tree all the time. After her tears dried, she dropped blood from her eyes without noticing. To everyone’s surprise, when the dropped blood fell to the ground, they became red beans. The red beans rooted and then grew into big trees. Soon after, red beans filled the branches and people named them love beans. Day after day, spring to autumn, the fruits slowly changed into the most beautiful seeds?Love beans.

Red beans have a very profound cultural foundation. A red, love bean is very big, with a diameter of about 9 millimeters. This kind of bean has distinct characteristics. They are very hard and hearts shaped, and have a similar color to blood. They can be stored for a very long time without rotting, or fading in color. More so, its shape and all the other lines are heart shaped.

In folklore, red beans are considered intelligent and lucky. If a boyfriend gives red beans to their girlfriends as presents, it means that they want to make a commitment. When a bride wears red beans on her wrist or neck, it means that she will lead a happy life. If married couples put six red beans that have been sworn upon under each pillow, it is said that the couple will maintain their eternal love.

Currently, red bean jewelry is sweeping southward. Fashionable women are proud of wearing red bean jewelry. Male and female lovers rush to choose jewelry for each other to show their love.

Red Beans have always stood for hope from as far back as the ancient periods.

    Emerald and The Correlative Information

    June 21st, 2010 900jewelry 1 comment

Emeralds are fascinating gemstones. They have the most beautiful, most intense and most radiant green that can possibly be imagined: emerald green. Inclusions are tolerated. In top quality, fine emeralds are even more valuable than diamonds.

The name emerald comes from the Greek ’smaragdos’ via the Old French ‘esmeralde’, and really just means ‘green gemstone’. Innumerable fantastic stories have grown up around this magnificent gem. The Incas and Aztecs of South America, where the best emeralds are still found today, regarded the emerald as a holy gemstone. However, probably the oldest known finds were once made near the Red Sea in Egypt. Having said that, these gemstone mines, already exploited by Egyptian pharaohs between 3000 and 1500 B.C. and later referred to as ‘Cleopatra’s Mines’, had already been exhausted by the time they were rediscovered in the early 19th century.

    Why People Wear Silver Jewelry

    June 14th, 2010 900jewelry No comments
Silver jewelry is widely worn today for a lot of reasons. now days lots of online jewelry wholesale offer nice quality silver jewelry on wholesale price.Below listed for A number of the reasons why people like silver jewelry

    1. A nice alternative to gold: Everyone knows that silver & gold are pricey precious stones but that silver is cheaper than gold, however the expensiveness of both precious stones puts their value at the same level. So if a material is not gold, the next query that comes to mind is Is it silver?. That is why lots of individuals wear silver as an alternative to gold. A number of these individuals may possess gold jewelry but would need a alter from time to time, & so they were silver or other precious stones like diamond, etc. but some basically cannot afford gold at that point in time & so they go for silver.

    2. Color combination: Sometimes when one considers a nice combination for what he is wearing, a silver jewelry will be more suitable than gold or other types of jewelry.

    3. A nice number of religious jewelry like Jesus dying on the cross, the Virgin Mary carrying Jesus, the rosary, the chaplet, the finger rosary, etc. usually come in silver & lots of people like to express their religious beliefs through those religious jewelry.

    4. Apart from being more affordable than gold or other precious stones like platinum or diamond, silver comes in a variety of forms. More forms than other stones. For instance, in lots of offices, the furniture are lined with more silver coating than gold. Lots of cell phone linings are silver; automobile door handles, etc are also lined with silver. Because individuals usually prefer to have a lot of things to chose from, silver jewelry is probably sold over gold. Read more…

    Rhinestone And Rhinestone Beads

    June 11th, 2010 900jewelry No comments

A rhinestone or paste or diamante is a diamond simulant made from rock crystal, glass or acrylic.

Originally, rhinestones were rock crystals gathered from the river Rhine. The availability was greatly increased when around 1775 the Alsatian jeweller Georg Friedrich Strass had the idea to imitate diamonds by coating the lower side of glass with metal powder. Hence, rhinestones are called Strass in many European languages.

Rhinestones may be used as imitations of diamonds, and some manufacturers even manage to reproduce the glistening effect real diamonds have in the sun.

In 1955, the Aurora Borealis or Aqua aura, a thin, vacuum-sputtered metallic coating applied to crystal stones to produce an iridescent effect, was introduced. Aurora Borealis tends to reflect whatever color is worn near it, and it is named after the Aurora Borealis atmospheric phenomenon, also known as the “Northern Lights”.

Typically, crystal rhinestones have been used on costumes, apparel and jewelry. Crystal rhinestones are produced mainly in Austria by Swarovski and in the Czech Republic by Preciosa and a few other glassworks in northern Bohemia. In the US, these are sometimes called Austrian Crystal.

Rhinestone Beads - add more sparkle to your designs. Our beautiful rhinestone beads, rondelles and spacers feature high quality crystals. You’ll love the shine and shimmer you get by adding even a few rhinestone beads to your designs.
