Summer Bracelet Style

May 12th, 2010 900jewelry No comments

knowledge culturejennifer lopez 2 Summer Bracelet Style

Summer is in the air. Jewelry style is  also updating. What style bracelet will you choose for yourself?

Simple silver bracelets can spruce up an outfit, whether you’re having a night on the town or just cruising the boardwalk on a sunny afternoon. And the great thing about bracelets are the unique styles that differ from really thin to monstrously thick!

The leading lady of the hit show Glee, Lea Michele, was seen on the red carpet with a stunning black designer dress and Neil Lane jewelry. The simple accents of the diamond bangle bracelets provided a glam look that didn’t distract from the curves and lines of her style. Jennifer Lopez, on the other hand, opted for extremely large hoop earrings and think, layered bangles and cuff bracelets. These jewelry pieces were a little less subtle, but still provided the tasteful, but somewhat over the top style that she’s know for.

So if you’re shopping for a hot new summer look, try sprucing up your bracelet collections with ornate cuff bracelets, funky bangle bracelets, and simple string friendship bracelets. They’re great for any occasion and can do wonders for your style.

All about these, I think i will choose Silver Plated Bead Fit Pandora bracelet. It will be together within summer.

IS your jewelry environment-friendly?

May 11th, 2010 900jewelry 11 comments

As the needs of the environment, more and more things are recycled. What maybe surprise you is the jewelry also can be recycled. We can make  recycle jewelry form the old beads.

I happened upon a fun idea after I went through my jewelry box recently. I keep saying how much I value simplicity, but you couldn’t tell that by looking through my jewelry box — there were way too many earrings! I gathered up all the ones that seemed like a good idea back when I made them, but now just aren’t worn much. That cleaned out some significant space.

Then today it hit me — why not see how many new pieces I can create from old earrings I no longer wear? What a fun challenge, right? If you have made lots of jewelry pieces like I have, no doubt you have lots of pieces hanging out doing nothing and rarely being worn. Why not take this challenge and see what new jewelry pieces you can come up with?

Here’s what I started with. Okay, so the round gold pendant was a toss away piece from another chain. I threw it in for good measure. Hmmm. What can I create?

Already, I’m getting some ideas. How about you?
Oh, and by the way, you are allowed to throw in chain, jump rings, beading wire, ear wires, etc, to connect all your beads and turn them into a previously uncreated, beautiful piece.

I knew I could easily come up with a few new pieces from my old beads, but the bracelet and earrings were easy favorites. I used the gold pendant as a focal bead and connected the other beads using jump rings, beading wire and a magnetic clasp. The beads for the earrings were such a natural combo, why didn’t I think of this before?? I connected the lampwork beads to the silver ovals using eyepins and jump rings. The cube Swarovski crystals were added using the same and connecting them to ear wires. I feel a party comin’ on with these puppies!

Have fun exercising your creativity with this beading challenge. Happy beading!

How to clean and care for your jewelry

May 10th, 2010 900jewelry No comments

I am a jewelry lover. I keep many in my box. But I really did badly of them. I just push them in one box rather then keep in different categories. And I never clean them.

Today I aware it’s so important to care my jewelry.

The trick to keeping jewelry at its best is keeping it clean. If jewelry is left for years or even months without a good cleaning or brushing, it can look dull and uninviting. Keep it looking brand new with these simple steps:

For Starters

Separate your good (real) jewelry from your costume jewelry

If you have two jewelry boxes use both of them for this purpose. Make sure your jewelry is organized by kind. Keep bracelets with bracelets and rings

with rings, etc. Be sure to check your necklace collection from time to time. Necklaces tend to get entwined with other necklaces. It can be a very frustrating task to untangle them if they get entwined. If you have the type of jewelry box that allows you to “hang” necklaces, this is probably the most sensible way to deal with necklaces and beads.

Types of Jewelry Cleaners

There are generally four to five “types” of jewelry cleaners: chemical (from jewelry store), cloth, natural/store bought, and good old-fashioned.

toothpaste. Out of all of these types of cleaners, toothpaste is the most inexpensive and effective. Plus, toothpaste will not harm any type of jewelry in any way. If it’s good enough for your pearly whites, then it’s good enough for your gems. It has also been recommended on home shopping clubs that sell jewelry and as a “jewelry tip.”

Caring for Rings

Rings are very noticeable and precious. Sometimes, you will see that your gem or stone is getting “cloudy” and unnoticeable. This is the result of hand creams, dirt, lint and soap buildup. It happens to almost all rings and can be easily reversed. If you have a pearl, mother of pearl, or opal stone do not immerse it in the chemical cleansers; natural stones should not be immersed this way. A good jewelry cloth bought from your jewelers is probably the best bet. All other rings, diamonds, or faux gems may be put into cleaners or scrubbed with a small brush covered in toothpaste. Rinse well with cold water. Also, if using a jewelry cleaner, make sure you rinse well with water when you’re through. Any cleaner residue will definitely “yellow” your stones.

Caring for Necklaces

Necklaces probably take the most work to clean and make bright again. It’s because they tend to be intricate in design or just plain delicate. The best bet for necklaces is a cloth or jewelry cleaner. A jewerly cleaner makes it easier to clean all the parts you want to. But, it doesn’t allow you to buff up the necklace and make it shine again. This is where the cloth comes in. Either way, this takes some work and a small set of fingers. The smaller the better. It is a detailed job that offers some nice rewards if done right. Use both the cloth and cleaner if needed.

Caring for Bracelets

Bracelets tend not to get very dirty or discolored. The problem with bracelets is that they typically tend to get scratched, dented, or bent. Just be careful with your bracelets. If you tend to be hard on your jewelry, try looking into purchasing the “flexible” types of bracelets that move with you.

So after this, i have learned how to clean and care for my jewelry. Jewelry can be still beautiful just under your serious caring.

How to deal with Ring when Divorce ?

October 6th, 2009 900jewelry No comments

Talk about burying the past. A New York divorcee has come up with a solution for failed marriages — a miniature coffin to lay those unwanted wedding rings to rest.
“Give a dead marriage its proper, final resting place,” the company offering the miniature caskets says on its website.
“The Wedding Ring Coffin is the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one for bringing closure after a divorce. It’s time to bury the past and move on to a new tomorrow,” it says.
The 15 by five centimeter solid wood coffin has a black velvet ring insert, a choice of six brass plaques inscribed with messages including “I do NOT!” and “Six feet isn’t deep enough,” and costs 30 dollars.
“It’s a way to acknowledge the death of a marriage and to physically and symbolically close the lid on that chapter of your life,” Jill Testa, who came up with the idea, told the New York Post.”Most people just stick their rings in the bottom of their jewelry box, in a corner of a sock or underwear drawer,” added Testa, who surprisingly describes her own divorce after 20 years of marriage as amicable.
Her company, Wedding Ring Coffin, even offers cards inviting people to join in your marriage wake , featuring the slogan: “You’re invited to my divorce party. Join me as I close the lid on my marriage.”
